As my birthday (24!) approaches I have been thinking about what I have learned. What I hope to continue to learn. After much online searching and self reflections ... here they are.
24 Life Lessons
1. Being an adult can be
fun when you are acting like a child. (Note there is a difference between being
immature and occasionally acting like a child)
2. Love has nothing to do
with looks, but everything to do with time, trust, and interest.
3. Laughing, crying, enjoyment
and anger. All are a necessary. All make
us human.
4. The greatest truths in
life are uncovered with simple, steady awareness.
5. Greed will bury even
the lucky eventually.
6. Bad things do happen
to good people.
7. Uncertainty is caused
by a lack of knowledge. Hesitation is
the product of fear.
8. Time heals all wounds.
(Regardless of how you feel right now)
9. Most of the time what
you are looking for is right in front of you.
10. Chance is a gift, so
act on chance when given the opportunity.
11. Kindness and hard
work will take you further than intelligence.
12. People deserve a second chance, but not a third……or a fourth.
13. Take lots of
pictures. I know someday I’ll be really
glad I did, so far I am.
14. Money makes life
easier only when the money is yours free and clear. {No bank robberies in my
future}
15. Carelessness is the source
of failure.
16. My actions now are creating
memories I will reminisce and talk about in my elder years.
17. Stepping outside of my comfort zone will put things
into perspective from an angle I can’t grasp now.
18. Motivation comes in
short bursts. Act while it’s hot.
19. Purposely ignoring
the obvious is like walking backwards toward the enemy.
20. Taking ownership of
failure builds the foundation for success.
21. First impressions are
completely worthless 50% of the time.
22. Personal glory lasts
forever.
23. If I never act, I
will never know for sure.
24.The little things make the biggest differences.Always.
Sometimes thinking about your life and sorting out
what you have learned is just as important as tackling a new venture. Learning
where you stand will limit the possibility for me to fall just anything.

ReplyDeleteAn addendum for you:
6: Bad things happen to good people.....my son would say, bad things only happen to good people because they have the strength to cope.....(Wise words for a 13 yr old)
17: Stepping out of your comfort zone gives you a different perspective because it allows you to see what is comfortable for you, and appreciate it, but also may well open you up to new possibilities and shift your comfort zone!
And finally, my words but the one thing I live by every day of my life.
"Only worry when there is actually something to worry about - worrying about what might be is a waste of time energy and life!"
Also
"Life is not going to grab you...you have to go out and grab it with both hands, and live it to the best of your ability"
Have a great day!
Lou :-)
You always have the best comments!
ReplyDeleteI like your addendum, especially to 6. That is a very good outlook. (One I will personally add to my life view :]) I plan on grabbing life everyday. More so in the days to come!
